Today we had a go at making water filters to clean dirty water.
On Friday afternoon we had a special visitor! Mr. Yoxalll joined us with his brass instruments to play us some tunes and teach us a little about the science of sound. We learned how sound travels in waves and what happens to these waves when the pitch and volume of the sound changes. After that, we made ‘guitars’ using cardboard boxes and elastic bands. What a fantastic way to end…
In maths this week, we have been investigating shape and symmetry. We have been building 3D shapes and creating symmetrical patterns.
As part of science week, we have been making some interesting concoctions! We mixed bicarbonate of soda with vinegar and food colouring and observed the bubbly reaction! Next, we mixed cornflour and water to create a non-Newtonian fluid. Then we had fun playing with it!
Today, we performed an investigation to find out which type of biscuit was the best for dunking! We discovered that rich tea biscuits took the most ‘dunks’ before breaking up. We then used the j2e data package to make bar charts to show our findings.
We had such fun on World Book Day celebrating our favorite books and characters. Thank you for all of the efforts that you put into the beautiful costumes!
