This Friday marks the 75th Anniversary of the VE Day.
On 7th May 1945, Winston Churchill made an announcement on the radio that Germany had officially surrendered. He declared that the next day (8th May) would become Victory in Europe day and a national holiday. His full speech can be found here:
The Royal British Legion have created resources specially designed for home learning. Why don’t you spend some time together with your parents/carers and talk about the VE Day and Remembrance.
It would be lovely if you made a peace poster and displayed it in your window to commemorate the Victory in Europe Day.
Finally, you could learn the word ‘peace’ in different languages.

We made the flags of Europe to celebrate 75 years of peace.
We made flags of the countries in Europe because it was the end of ww2 in Europe.
