This week in FS2, we have been saying ‘goodbye’ to Summer and saying ‘hello’ to Autumn. We started the week with a story told using props about what happens to the leaves on the trees in Autumn, and we sang songs about ‘golden leaves’ and about a ‘red squirrel’.
We then looked out for lots of Autumn objects and filled up our Autumn tray in the classroom. We found conkers, acorns, leaves and pine cones. Remember to keep looking out for beautifully coloured leaves if you are out and about over the weekend and bring them in to add to the tray!
We have also been making beautiful Autumn pictures using pens, pencils, crayons and paints, counting with conkers, making playdough hedgehogs and making autumn leaf soup in the mud kitchen. What a fantastic week to launch our Autumn topic!
