Home Learning Summer 2

  • 31st May, 2020 at 12:59pm

Dear Year 4,

I hope you have all had a lovely holiday.  What have you been doing? Have you been enjoying the sunshine?

I have attached your learning for this half term.  There is your usual chilli challenges covering many of the Science and RE objectives for this half term.  I have also included an English and Maths home learning sheet.  These are for this week, and I will update these next Monday to help you keep up to date with your learning.  If you are struggling with any of the links, copy and paste them and this should work.

Please get in touch if you need me, and I will do my best to help you.  Remember to send me any work you can as I love to see what you have been doing.

Take Care

    Hi Mrs Todd,
I’ve been learning about Mother Teresa today and made a heart out of Hama beads. I liked doing research about Mother Teresa, I think she was a nice and helpful person.

I have written a story about a raindrop and I’m very proud of it. My mum says she thinks it’s amazing so I hope you like it. I’ve tried very hard to make it sound interesting so I will see if you enjoy it. Love Jayden

      Hi Jayden,

I agree with your mum it is amazing. I like how you have written it to really emphasise how water’s life story is cyclic. I like how you have written about the raindrop’s experiences, pushing the idea that we are still using the same water as even the dinosaurs. You have shown a great understanding by being able to put these details into a story. Well done. I am also amazed by how hard you are working 🙂

I decided to do a tally and bar chart about bugs in my garden. I found loads as I have a bug hotel and have got very good at finding them. I really enjoyed doing this and am going to spend the afternoon finding more bugs. Jayden

Well done, this is great. You’re bug hotel has benefitted you for a few pieces of homework now. You will have to give the bugs something special and comfy to live in as a thank you 🙂
I am glad you enjoyed this piece of work, and I love how you made a tally chart to record your findings first.

      Keep up the hard work!

    Hi Mrs Todd,
Today I have been learning about all the states of matter. I have done a poster and also I did some experiments with my mum. We have been melting solids to liquids and changing liquids into solids. When I helped to boil the kettle, I saw lots of steam and that water vapour is the gas. I watched a few you tube videos about it too.

    To Mrs Todd
I did really not enjoy doing about possessive apostrophes but I do get it now. Thank you very much for reading my work. I hope this is good love Jayden x

      Hi Jayden,
I am sorry that you didn’t enjoy the work on possessive apostrophes. This is an area that, as a class, we needed to practise further, so I wanted to give you all the opportunity to understand it better . The fact that you did it anyway shows me what a positive attitude you have to your learning and this makes me so proud of you. Using possessive apostrophes correctly will help your work to make more sense and flow better.
Well done for your perseverance 🙂

      Hi Jayden,

This is great. You have extended your learning and shown that you really understand what you have done. I will let Mrs Mills know that you have been working on Excel too, she would love to hear that. Fantastic!

Well, you must be enjoying your learning if you forgot about the holidays 🙂 I hope you find time to relax this week instead.

I am so excited for you with the new guidelines on lockdown; you must be so excited. Don’t forget to let me know what you get up to. I would love to hear about your adventures.

Take care and stay in touch.
