How are you all?

  • 30th Mar, 2020 at 11:01am

Hi Year 4,

It’s the beginning of week 2, and I just wondered how you were all doing?  It has been lovely to hear from the children that have been in contact.  How are the rest of you?  Please do keep in touch.  I am checking the blog daily and look forward to reading what you have been up to.

Please note that you have your home challenges (the work I set as homework before any of this happened) and your home learning work which I gave you before we left.  If you have misplaced the home learning sheet, it is also here on the blog.  Please get in touch if you have any questions.  I am still your teacher and I want to help you.

Below, I have added a link to the game Strike it Out on the nrich website.  Have a go at playing it at home and let me know who the winner is in your house. šŸ™‚  Let me know if you try any of the other activities on this website and we can share them.

Take care and I hope we are all back together soon.

    Hi Mrs Todd
I’ve made tea with my mum for Cubs ,[same as Ben and Jamie] it was very tasty! I have been playing tt rockstars and now I am 87 milliseconds! I am contacting Thomas ,frank and Elliot on FaceTime all at the same time! All we talked about was tt rockstars and Minecraft. I have also Face timed and written to Jayden. I go on mymaths and tt rockstars and I read on Oxford owl. I have made a chatterbox about questions on Grammar me and my mum tested each other. I also did a biography on my mum it was very interesting because I learnt new things about her! I do Joe wicks in the morning it is tiring but fun!
    Hope to see you soon
    Love Freddie xxx

      Hi Freddie,

It sounds like you have been busy. It’s great that you have been cooking with your mum. I think it is lovely to try other skills out while you have more time together.
I have been looking at the TT Rock Star scores and I saw that you have improved your speed so well done to you. I’m proud of you! Did you see that Year 4 won the TT Rock Star class award last week? I hope we can get it again this week.
Like many of your friends, it is great to hear that you are keeping in touch with others. We are so lucky to have ways that we can still have fun with our friends.
It’s lovely to hear that you interviewed your mum for a biography. There are many things that we don’t always think to ask our families and that was a lovely opportunity for you to find out more. Did you have a go at editing and improving your work afterwards?

I hope to see you all soon too and until then take care and stay in touch.

    Hello Mrs Todd
I have made 2 electrical circuits today, one that makes an alarm go off and one that makes a fan fly. I have done a PowerPoint about electricity and circuits. I have also been on TT rock stars, for entertainment at home I have had a video chat with Alice, done Joe Wicks exercises and wrote my own exercise plan, which Iā€™m thinking of sending to him.
Iā€™m going to do the rainbow challenge for NHS and clap for them tonight. See you soon

      Hi Georgia,
I love your circuits, well done. My boys have these circuit sets too and they are great fun. I would love to see your power point if you want to send it to me. Have you found the topic interesting?
Like many of your friends, I am glad that you are keeping in touch with others. It is important to keep in touch with our friends and keep busy. As you know, exercise is important too, so it is great to hear that you are keeping up with the Joe Wicks P.E. Are you enjoying it?

Take care and keep in touch

    Hi Mrs Todd

How are you? I’ve been keeping busy doing lots of gymnastics, maths and English. When I go on my maths it won’t let me answer 1 of the questions on each page but I’m now a rock legend on TT rockstars! I’ve been talking to Isabella and Stella on FaceTime which is fun.

    Hope to see you soon.

    Love Annabelle xx

      Hi Annabelle,

I am good thank you. I am finding it strange not being at school and missing you all. However, I am keeping busy with school work and working with my children on their home learning.
I have checked your My Maths and I can see you have been working hard. Would you let me know which tasks are not letting you fully answer and I will see if I can sort it out. šŸ™‚
I am happy to hear that you are now a Rock Legend, and I can see that you have managed to get your recall speed up too. Well done!
It’s great to hear that you are keeping in touch with your friends too. Next time you speak to them, say hello from me. Like you, I hope we are all able to see one another soon.
Take care and keep working hard. Stay in touch šŸ™‚

Hi Mrs. Todd, how are you? I’ve been doing lots of maths, spellings and english. I’ve also made a flapjack with Bridie and my Mum. I’m keeping myself entertained by face-timing Thomas and Freddie.
Hope to see you soon, love from Frank

      Hi Frank,
Thanks for getting in touch! It’s great to hear from you.
I am pleased to hear that you have been keeping up with your Maths and English, and it’s also lovely to hear that you are spending time on other skills like baking too. How was the Flapjack? It’s one of my favourite treats to eat. šŸ™‚ Did Bridie enjoy doing it with you?
I am also really pleased to hear that you too are able to FaceTime your friends and keep in touch with them. My children have also been able to stay in touch with their friends that way and it is lovely that you all can.
Take care Frank and stay in touch
      Mrs Todd šŸ™‚
