On 1st October, we again welcomed over 40 ‘older’ people to Sacred Heart School. The afternoon began with tea and cakes in the Hall, with the wonderful Chaplaincy Team escorting everybody over there safely.
Our visitors then enjoyed an afternoon of activities with the children, in their classrooms.
The afternoon finished with a beautiful assembly in which the Y6 presented a very moving dance. The assembly ended with a reflection of how important our grandparents are to us and there were some prayers.
Finally, the children sang their hearts out to ‘My Lighthouse’ which described how our older generation are like a light to us, shining in the darkness.
We were delighted that so many people were able to join us on a very wet day and we hope everyone enjoyed the afternoon.
