FS2 have been so busy this week with lots of poppy activities. We have been learning about remembrance day and why many people choose to wear a poppy at this time of the year. We have also concentrated on the story called ‘Ava’s poppy’ by Marcus Pfister which tells a story about the lifecycle of a poppy. This inspired us to make lots of poppies using different materials. We have also been talking about feelings this week and about the wide range of feelings that we experience. Thank you to the FS2 parents and carers who have helped their children to identify their feelings for our ‘feelings check-in’ in school. As time goes on, the children will be able to identify their feelings more independently! See below for a few pictures of what we have been up to this week!

Drawing poppies on the whiteboard.

Making soldier’s medals out of collage materials.
Counting poppies and recording the amount.
What a great idea to make poppies using our maths resources.
Making numbers out of playdough to represent the amount of poppies.
