Roald Dahl 100 Day

  • 13th Sep, 2016 at 2:24pm

The children have had a fantastic fun day of activities themed around Roald Dahl. The costumes looked as wonderful as ever and there was a chocolate bar prize for the winner in each class.-Thank you to Mrs Roche for judging for us.Y1 enjoyed making their own ‘medicine’ for grandma, whilst Y5 were trying to problem solve using sweets! Y2 have made some birds nest cakes and there have been many other exciting activities happening around school, including the giraffe, the pelly and ‘me’ (monkey) who sat in the dining room at lunch time with the children. Well done to everyone! We hope you all had fun 🙂

Here are some pictures from today.

Everyone looked amazing on Roald Dahl’s day. Many children at school were dressed as Mr Fox and other characters from his famous children’s books.
Children who dressed up had their pictures taken by Mrs Kelly. At the end of the day there was a competition. In Year 3 the winner was Kaden who was dressed as Mr Fox and Mrs Jessop and Mrs Mills amongst the teachers.
Roald Dahl was a British writer who received many awards for his books, especially children ones. “The Gremlins” was Dahl’s first children book and one of the most famous is “Charlie and the chocolate factory”.
He also served in the Royal Air Force during the Second World War.
