Hi Year 4,

I hope you had a great Easter holiday and are ready to settle back into your home learning.Β  I am sorry that we haven’t been able to return to school yet and I am missing you all.Β  Please remember that I am here to support you and would love to hear from you.

I have attached three sheets to support you with your home learning.  There is the usual chilli challenge sheet, a Maths home learning sheet, and an English home learning sheet.  On these attachments, there are many ideas to support you with your home learning and to help cover different aspects of the curriculum.

Take care and remember to stay in touch.

I have picked the wood louse habitat as I love them and have loads in my garden. I have a bug hotel and am slowly filling it up with different bugs. I think they keep eating each other haha!!
I hope you like my habitat sheet it took me a long time.
Hope I see you soon Jayden

      Hi,

Well done on your work! I can see how hard you have worked as there is lots of information on it. I love the drawings too; I think your frog is my favourite :).
Did you build the bug hotel yourself? What other insects are living in it? I would love to see a photograph of it.

Take care and hope to see you soon too.

    Hi Mrs Todd,
    Hope you are well
I listened to the Corona Virus book for kids on the amazon audible story app and I really understand how lock down works now.
I thought it was good because it taught me how to protect myself from the Corona Virus I rated it 4 and a half stars.
Hope to see you soon, Frank.

      Hi Frank,
I am very well thank you.
I am so pleased that you listened to this book, and that it has helped you to be clearer about lockdown. It is a hard thing to understand as we have never experienced it before.
What else have you been up to while we have been on lockdown?
It is lovely to hear from you and, like you, I hope we will all be able to see each other soon.
Take care and stay in touch πŸ™‚

Today I have been learning all about the River Don and found some interesting facts about it. I have been playing lots of games about rivers too. I wish I could see my friends soon.

      Hi Georgia,

These are great facts about the River Don. I didn’t realise it flowed all the way to Stainforth. I used to work there and it takes quite a bit of time to get there by car. Well done on your neat handwriting too, and I can see you have worked hard to make sure your sentences make sense. You have worked so hard Georgia, you must be very proud.

    Hi Mrs Todd,
I have made a piece of art on Mary. I had lots of fun doing it. I made lots of flowers using felt, tissue paper and card. I hope you like it. I have also done a global goals poster. Bye for now πŸ‘‹

      Hi Georgia,

This is really lovely and a wonderful way to bring more of a focus to Mary in your home this month. I like how you have made paper flowers so they last longer.

I found it really interesting finding out about the river sheaf and have written some facts for you. I haven’t done a presentation like it said but am happy and proud I have done lots of writing. I hope you like it and find it interesting from Jayden

      Hi Jayden,
This is great, thank you. I really don’t mind how you present the work as long as you are happy and I can see that you are learning. I also see that you are trying hard with your compound and complex sentences, so another reason to be proud.
These are really interesting facts about the River Sheaf. I did not know that about King Ecgbert. I wonder if that is why there is a school called King Ecgbert’s in Sheffield.

Thank you for sending me your work.

    Hi,
I made a clock out of cardboard to help me learn the 24 hour clock. It’s getting easier and I am learning a little bit every day. Sometimes I get mixed up with the hour and minute hand.

    Hi Mrs Todd,
I finished my model and I did some research about rivers. I chose to find out about the Yellow river in China. Hope you are ok?

      Hi Georgia,

Thank you for sending me these photographs of your work. It is great to see them. I like how you have used natural and man made materials for your river. This shows me that you have carefully considered your materials πŸ™‚ Your river facts are interesting too. Its is good to see that you have clarified other words such as sediment too. Keep up the good work!

      Hi,
This is fantastic! I can see you have enjoyed making it because of all the effort you have put in. I love how you made the rocky mountain with the tissue paper. Well done, this will really help you with understanding the features of a river.

    Hi Mrs Todd,
I hope you had a good Easter. I’m really missing school and seeing my friends. I am sending you a picture of the vegetables that I have been growing. They have got very big except for the peppers but I will still look after them. Today I started making a model of a river but its not finished yet. I will send you a picture when I have finished it.

      Hi Georgia,

Your plants have grown so well! You must have taken great care of them.

I am so pleased you have started to make a model of a river. This will help you to understand some of the key features of a river and have an understanding of some of the keywords. Please keep your model so we can look at it when we get back to school. In the meantime, I am looking forward to seeing the photograph of it.

Hello Mrs Todd, I hope you had a lovely Easter. I am missing school very much now and I cannot wait to come back.
I have been researching this morning about the main river in Frankfurt. Here are 5 interesting facts about what I’ve found.
    1. The main river is in frankfurt Germany
    2. The length is 525 kilometres
    3. It is the longest lying river in Germany
    4. The source of the river is upper Franconia
    5. The mouth of the river’s location is the Rhine.

Also on the my maths website. The games don’t seem to work when I’m clicking on them.
    See you soon everyone.

      Hi Thomas,
I had a lovely Easter thank you. It is lovely to hear that you are excited to come back to school. I am excited to see you all too.

Wow, I am so pleased to see that you have settled back into your work so well. These are great facts about this river. Can you find it on a map? It would be interesting to see.

I have been on your My Maths site this morning and the tasks I have given you do seem to be working from my end. Have you had a problem with the lessons I have given you or the games? If it’s the games, it may be that you do not have flash player. If it’s the lessons, please let me know which ones and I will have another look for you πŸ™‚

      Take care
      Mrs Todd
