The General Election

  • 15th Dec, 2019 at 11:34pm

Mrs Jessop and Mrs Mills explained what happens at a general election. They told us that adults make informed choices about who to vote for. We recalled our learning from our Victorian topic, remembering what and how the Suffragettes changed things for women voters.

Afterwards, we had our own election in class. Our two teachers took to the podium. Each explaining their Manifesto.

Mrs Jessop:

If I become leader we will have extra time in the yard playing with equipment.

We will have lots of fun and get fit at the same time.

Mrs Mills:

If I become leader we will have extra time with the Ipads and play on lots of great games.

You will get better at using the Ipads and have longer time on them than usual.

We then filled in a voting slip and placed them into a ballot box. The votes were counted and verified. After a tense few minutes the results were in. Mrs Mills won the majority vote!
